If you’re like many other gamers anticipating God of War Ragnarök, and are running Windows 10, you may have hit the blocker that prevents you from playing the game: when you boot the game up, you receive an error saying You need at least Windows 10 build 19041
.
Fortunately, the developers have suggested a fix. In the fix, two workarounds are suggested, both of them based on not running the game in compatibility mode.
First Solution: Un-check Compatibility Mode for Steam
- Close Steam client
- Navigate, with Windows Explorer, to the path
C:\Users\[YOUR USER]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Steam
- Right-click on the Steam icon and select
Open File Location
so you could navigate to the actual directory that contains your Steam executable. - Right click on the Steam icon and press
Properties
- Select the
Compatibility
tab - Un-check the box that says
Run this program in compatibility mode for:
- Select
Apply
- Click
OK
- Try launching the game via Steam again.
Second Solution: Un-check Compatibility Mode for the Game
- Right click on the game in your steam library.
- Select

- Select

.exe
