Valve’s new, unannounced MOBA shooter, Deadlock, has been in a closed playtest phase for several months, with thousands of Steam users receiving invites. Despite instructions not to discuss the game, many gameplay videos and impressions have surfaced online.
Possible ways of getting into the playtest
To join the Deadlock playtest, you can either:
- Be randomly invited by Valve.
- Get invited by a friend who is already in the playtest.
Playtesters can recommend friends for invites, but this doesn’t guarantee access. Valve has been sending out invites in waves, and the number of playtesters has significantly increased recently. There’s no proven way to increase your chances of getting an invite, so just keep an eye on your Steam notifications and email.
Deadlock player numbers
In early August, Deadlock had 18,000 concurrent players, which has now risen to over 34,000.
