Today, September 12th 2024, Steam has announced the long-awaited Steam Families system.
Steam Families is a collection of features that enable game sharing, parental controls and purchase requests among family members. You are limited to up to five other members of the same household – much like Netflix’s recent limit. Often, the same household is considered as one IP address.
Game Sharing allows all members of your family to share the library with each other. However, unless you have several copies of the same game, only one family member may play the game at a given time.
You can have two types of Family members: Adults and Children. Adults can choose which games children can play, what they can access, and get reports on that, while children can request from an adult family member to pay for items in their shopping cart.
